Not sure if you have heard. Subaru debuted its all-new 2024 Impreza compact car with new styling at 2022 Lost Angeles Auto Show last month. The new 2024 Subaru Impreza Compact Car, which is the 6th generation Impreza, is presented in a sportier 5-door hatchback with a 10-percent stiffer chassis, new in-vehicle technology as well as improved performance and safety.
Speaking of performance, there will be a new RS trim level that is powered by a 2.5L Subaru Boxer engine that produces 182 horsepower and 178 lb-ft (241 Nm) of torque and features unique exterior and interior elements, and exclusive 18-inch wheels. The Base and Sport trims are outfitted with a 2.0L 4-cylinder direct-injection Subaru Boxer producing 152 HP and 145 lb-ft (197 Nm) of torque.
The new 2024 Impreza will come standard with the latest generation of EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, along with an 11.6-inch Subaru Starlink center information display – which is available for the first time on Impreza – with support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Also standard across the model line is a revised Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive system which is further bolstered by Active Torque Vectoring, along with Lineartronic CVT and a version of the WRX sports car’s dual pinion electronic power steering rack.
However, the Sport and RS trims further boast an 8-speed manual mode with steering wheel paddle shifters that will let the driver control the transmission through 8 pre-set ratios, plus an SI-Drive performance management system, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a sport-tuned suspension system. The RS also touts Harman Kardon 10-speaker system, Power Moonroof, and 10-way power front driver seat with lumbar support.
For the uninitiated, the RS marks the return of the model’s premier enthusiast-focused trim level. The 2.5 RS debuted in 1998 and was the precursor to the WRX in the U.S. Market. In other words, it is the next best thing to the WRX which I am sure will also be offered.
The new 2024 Subaru Impreza comes exclusively as a 5-door hatchback when it arrives in Subaru dealerships in Spring 2024.
