When BMW joins forces with Kith, magic—or perhaps madness—happens. For their latest collaboration, Ronnie Fieg and BMW unveiled two wildly different creations that bridge the marque’s storied past and experimental future.

First, there’s the 1981 BMW M1 E26—which is what we are here for, really—reborn under Fieg’s watchful eye. Cloaked in Techno Violet, the rarest shade this side of the Autobahn, the car gleams like a grape-hued time capsule. But don’t be fooled by the vintage exterior.
Its meticulously restored 3.5-liter inline-six engine still delivers a hefty 277 horsepower, reminding us why this German legend once ruled the roads at a blistering 165 mph. Inside, it’s a leather-clad tribute to excess, featuring Kith’s monogram splashed over seats, door inserts, and even floor mats. It’s one-part heritage, one-part swagger, and all kinds of fast.
Then, the 2025 BMW XM Kith Concept bursts into the scene, carrying the M Division’s DNA into uncharted territory. With a hulking hybrid powertrain delivering 750 horsepower, this SUV is less about blending in and more about bulldozing expectations.

Inside, a three-dimensional illuminated headliner transforms the rear seats into a futuristic lounge, while outside, sharp lines and oversized grilles scream “Look at me!” It’s part Dr. Jekyll, part Mr. Hyde, balancing opulent indulgence with monstrous performance.
Both cars are one-of-a-kind and will be on display at the Kith for BMW Showcase at 1111 Lincoln Road this Friday during Art Basel Miami Beach (December 06-08, 2024).
This is not Ronnie’s first partnership with BMW and looking at how awesome the latest project cars turned out, I am pretty sure this isn’t going to be the last either.
The cars are not for sale, but the die-cast model of the 1981 BMW M1 E26 will be available at a later date:

We cannot find images on the XM but here are a few more looks at the 1981 BMW M1 E26:
