There’s folding electric assist bike and there’s fat bike, and then there is this thing here: the 2018 RadMini Electric Folding Fat Bike. Armed with ridiculously chunky 4-inch wide knobby tires, the 2018 RadMini Electric Folding Fat Bike is not the mini electric assist bike you have known; it is one that will let you take on the ‘last mile’ regardless of the terrains.
Be it on or off road, its 60 mm travel suspension fork, electric assist offered by a 750W Bafang geared hub motor, half twist throttle and intelligent 5 level pedal assist will let you conquer rough trails without your bum and legs feeling sore. Furthermore, at just 64 lbs (29 kilograms), it can be easily haul up short flight of stairs, or into a vehicle without too much of a strain.
It is a folding bike and therefore, it’d fit right into an automobile or into a closet. To get it down to size, all it takes is two simple steps: flipping the mid frame lever and folding the handlebars. And despite its compact stature, an adjustable seat post height and an adjustable handlebar width allows it to accommodate a person of height 5’2” to 6’2” (157 to 188 centimeters).
Other features include an aluminum construction, integrated 300-lumen headlight, factory taillight, Shimano Tourney 1×7 drivetrain with thumb shifter, 180 mm Tektro Aries mechanical disc brakes, 20” x 4” Kenda Krusade Sport tires, a backlit LCD that offers essential telemetry at a glance, optional heavy duty front and rear cargo racks, and a key-locked, removable lithium-ion battery rated at 14 Ah that offers up to 45 miles range. It even has a USB port to charge your phone too.
The 2018 RadMini Electric Folding Fat Bike has a top speed of 20 miles an hour (32 km/h) and a maximum payload of 275 lbs (40 lbs on the rear rack). But all these awesomeness comes with quite a price. A basic ride without options will set you back at $1,499. Last checked, though, it is out of stock.
