This one is dedicated to the budget Apple fan: the new Apple iPhone SE. It may be a budget iPhone with no fancy edge-to-edge display, but boy oh boy, it has the same chip that powers the iPhone 11 Series, the A13 Bionic with third-generation neural engine. It even gets an IP rating too (IP67).
It is a budget device, so it is natural that some corners had to be cut and in this case, the most obvious would be the display which is a 4.7-inch Retina HD (1,334 x 750 pixels) IPS LCD display that has a significant amount of forehead and chin. But no biggie. It is still a beautiful device. Just think of it as a homage to the original
The new iPhone SE has just a single rear camera of 12 MP. It is 6-element wide-angle lens snapper with f1.8 aperture and offers 5x digital zoom (don’t count it, really), along with a bunch of imaging features like bokeh, 4K videoing at up to 60 fps and more.
Over the front, it has a 7 MP camera with large f2.2 aperture capable of 1080p videoing at 30 fps. And then there’s the good old Home button with integrated Touch ID fingerprint sensor, plus the usual bunch of connectivity and sensors, including, of course, GPS/GNSS, digital compass, WiFi, iBeacon microlocation, three-axis gyro, and barometer – just to name a few.
Rounding up the package is a battery that “lasts about the same as iPhone 8” but with fast charging feature that would take it to 50 percent in just 30 minutes of charging with a 18W adapter or higher (not included). Also, wireless charging is in order here which is kind of sweet. I mean, considering the phone starts at just $399.
Available in three capacities: 64, 128 and 256 GB and in black, white and (PRODUCT)RED, the new Apple iPhone SE is available to pre-order on apple.com and the Apple Store app starting at 5AM PDT on Friday, April 17. It will be officially available a week later, on April 24, 2020.
