Huami Zepp E Smartwatches

This is Chinese smartwatch maker, Huami‘s newest brand, Zepp. Zepp is not a model under Huami’s Amazfit. It is a whole new sub-brand aimed at a different segment. And the Zepp E is the first of its offering.

Two models are available, a round model and a square model, aptly referred to as Zepp E Circle and Zepp E Square, respectively.

Generally speaking, both models have the same spec sheet details, saved for the obvious: the display. The Circle gets a 1.28-inch AMOLED display with 416 x 416 resolution while the Square is outfitted with a 1.65-inch AMOLED display offering 348 x 442 pixels The display has the option for Always-on.

Zepp E features a super slim (just 9 mm thin), unibody polished stainless body paired to a 20 mm band. It is marketed as a fashionable smartwatch with multiple design by the way of band material with a choice of metal, leather, fluoroelastomer to pick from. The 3D curved bezel-less glass also helps to elevate the boardroom look.

Common features include single button, 5 ATM (50 meters or 164 feet) water resistance, a 188 mAh battery that offers up to 7 days of use (or 15 days in basic watch mode), Bluetooth 5.0, and a bunch of sensors including bio-tracking optical sensor, accelerometer, geomagnetic sensor, ambient light sensor, plus linear vibration motor for alerts.

The onboard sensors afford the watch to offer tracking for 11 sports modes, as well as monitor your sleep, blood-oxygen level, stress level, and of course, heart rate. Not sure the SpO2 is FDA approved or not.

If anyone’s interested, Huami Zepp E Square and Zepp E Circle Smartwatches are available now in stateside for US$249.99 a piece and £209 in the U.K. It is also being sold in its home market, priced at 1,499 RMB.
