CaDA 1:8 Scale Yangwang U9 Building Set

If you’ve been drooling over the car that jumps, the Yangwang U9, after seeing it in action on one of IShowSpeed’s livestreams, well, you’re gonna keep drooling. Not only is there no official way to own one outside of China, but you probably can’t even get your hands on the 1:8 scale Technic-style kit either.

Hot on the heels of the 1:20 and 1:24 scale brick-built models from CaDA is the CaDA 1:8 Scale Yangwang U9 Building Set (C64011). Packing a whopping 3,671 elements, the 1:8 set not only faithfully recreates the aerodynamic lines and functions of the actual ride—it even has custom transparent elements made especially for the “time-space gate” headlight unit.

Just like the real deal, the 1:8 model can also “dance.” Via Bluetooth and using the CaDA BOT app, you can use your phone’s gyroscope to trigger custom dance moves (as Speed did in his video). You can also let the car do its thing through demo mode.

The app also lets you adjust ride height, perform on-the-spot 360° turns, toggle the lights, and of course, drive it like a regular RC car.

Speaking of remote and lights, this kit comes with a whole bunch of electronic modules, including two 2.4G lithium battery boxes, four L-shaped Motor Pros, five Servo Motor Pros, three expansion hubs, and two LED lighting sets. TBH, I’m not a fan. The cables are going to drive me nuts. I wish there were a non-motorized version, like the CaDa 1:10 Mazda 787B.

Other goodies include adjustable coilover suspension, low-resistance hard rubber integrated tires, a central lock hub half-shaft system, aerodynamic side skirts, an innovative integrated swan-neck rear wing and engine cover, butterfly doors with a new pivot design, adjustable seats (forwards and backwards), and realistic opening front and rear hoods.

Like other CaDA sets, all graphics are printed. No dreadful stickers here. Rounding things out is an officially licensed commemorative plaque—though, as with other sets, it’s just co-branding with no details on the actual car.

When completed, the model measures 60.3 cm long, 29.4 cm wide, and 16 cm tall (~23.74 x 11.57 x 6.3 inches).

The CaDA 1:8 Scale Yangwang U9 Building Set was officially launched on July 15, and it will first go on sale on CaDA’s official webstore on Tmall.com starting July 18, 2025.

As for the price… oh, you’d better sit down for this. It’s listed at a cool 9,949 yuan [CH], which works out to around US$1,340. Holy mother. I’m not sure if that’s a placeholder or the actual price.

[UPDATE July 18, 2025, 8:45 PM PT] Well, the price was indeed a placeholder. The official price has just been revealed: it is 1,499 yuan or 209 USD or thereabout based on the current going rate.
