Tesla is known for catching trends. So, it is no surprise that the EV maker sees that Pickleball will continue be popular and decided that it should partake in this popular sport with a Tesla co-branded Selkirk pickleball paddle. Yes. Tesla’s lifestyle accessories catalog now includes a high-end pickleball paddle by Selkirk.

While it is called the Tesla Plaid Pickleball Paddle by Selkirk, how fast the paddle can make swings is as good as your skill. So Plaid does not mean fast, but it does bring to the table, or the court in this case, high-performance trim. Well, kinda.
Inspired by the aerodynamic lines of Tesla cars, this paddle looks like it wants to overtake your opponent in the fast lane. It has an edgeless design, an open throat face, and integrated weights to help with swing aerodynamics. Tesla’s design team and Selkirk’s R&D crew apparently spent months turning a simple paddle into something that sounds like it needs its own wind tunnel.
The face uses Florek carbon fiber with an InfiniGrit surface, while the core is Selkirk’s PureFoam. Translation: it is built to hit hard, spin well, and not fall apart when you get a little too excited on match point.
It weighs between 7.8 and 8.1 ounces, or roughly 221 to 230 grams if you think in metric. The paddle measures 16.4 inches long, about 41.7 cm, and 7.5 inches wide, or 19.1 cm. The grip has a 4.25-inch circumference, around 10.8 cm, with a grip length of 5.35 inches, or 13.6 cm. Thickness is 16 mm, swing weight is rated at 118, and twist weight comes in at 6.2, which all sounds very scientific, even if most of us are just going to swing it and hope for the best.
Each paddle comes with a carry bag that is as sleek and cool as the paddle itself.
The Tesla Plaid Pickleball Paddle by Selkirk is priced at US$350. It is currently out of stock. But you probably already see that coming, don’t you? I mean, it’s Tesla after all.
