If you are a huge fan of Pacific Rim, then you will check out these new toys from McFarlane Toys. The toy company has revealed its first wave of Pacific Rim action figures and they will probably surprise you. Not only will be getting popular Jaegers and iconic kaijus seen in the franchise, but you’d also be getting rebuildable skyscrapers along with street sections, and military vehicles to set up for action.
Granted, save for the starter pack, you’d be getting one building per set with a street section and a couple of military vehicles. But if you collect enough, you should be able to create a city diorama for a pretty impressive Jaegers vs. kaijus showdown.
Be warned, though. These are toys so do not expect a huge amount of details or realism in them. Plus, these are 4-inch scale figures, so there is much the toy designers can do with regard to detail. In addition to the figures and accessories, each playset comes with an issue of the Pacific Rim comics.
The first wave comprises 9 sets, including Striker Eureka, Crimson Typhoon, Gipsy Danger, Cherno Alpha, Otachi, Leatherback, Raiju, the legendary Knifehead, and a starter pack.
Each set goes for US$19.99. So all eight sets would run at back at a cool US$159.92. If you don’t have the budget, well, then that’s where the ninth set is for. It is a Pacific Rim Starter Pack Playset Gold Label.
The set gets you started with two Jaegers (Gipsy Danger and Striker Eureka) and a kaiju (Raiju), along with four rebuildable towers, 4 street sections, and a whopping 24 military vehicles. In addition, you will be getting not one but two comic books. You may have already noted, that the set is Gold Label, which means it comes with unique packaging and artwork and is limited.
