If you are a G-Shock watch collector and a huge fan of Japanese streetwear brand, BAPE, well then you are in for a super treat. A BATHING APE is celebrating its 30th anniversary with an exclusive wristwatch collaboration with G-SHOCK, which is also celebrating its 40th anniversary.
The watch uses the GM-6900 model, featuring a metal bezel for the first time in this collaboration. It has a 53.9mm case size, is shock-resistant, and water-resistant to 20 ATM – you know, the usual goodness of a G-Shock GM-6900 – suitable for everyday and street sports use.
The watch is coated with BAPE CAMO, albeit in a very subtle way, displaying “bape” and “BUSY WORKS” on the gold metallic face. The front button at 6 o’clock carries the alphabet “B” for BAPE. The back features the BAPE logo for the 30th anniversary.
The watch includes a special BAPE CAMO pattern on the replacement cross band and comes in a black trunk-style case. It will be available for pre-sale from November 1, 2023, at a BAPE pop-up store and later through A BATHING APE and BAPE.COM starting from November 4, 2023. It will also be sold at selected overseas G-SHOCK STORE locations.
The G-Shock BAPE 30th Anniversary Exclusive Model has a list price of 44,000 yen (about US$293). Hmmm, why do I have a feeling that it will sell out before we know it?
