You read that right. Tesla has finally revealed a much anticipated, super fast version of the Model S. Dubbed the Plaid, this handsome fellow has a peak power of 1,100 ponies. 1,100! That is absolutely bonkers!
The Plaid Model S further touts 200 miles an hour (322 kmh) top speed, sub 2.0s 0-60 mph (0-97 kmh) sprint and over 520 miles (837 km) range on a single charge. Never mind the practical sedan form that has good amount of cargo space because, those numbers essentially puts in the supercar territory.

This Tesla Model S on multiple doses of steroid is set to be available in late 2021, but with great power comes great (not in a good way, btw) price. The Tesla Plaid Model S Electric Sport Sedan starts at a ludicrous US$139,000 before application of “potential savings.” That’s pricier than the 2020 Porsche Taycan 4S.
Then again, on paper, the entry-level Taycan is no match for the Plaid. The Tesla Plaid Model S is now available to order on Tesla website.
Before you go ahead and drop your hard-earned dough on this beast, here’s a couple of video of the Plaid Model S making the speed runs:
