Well, we almost missed this entirely. We are talking about a new OnePlus 15 variant, the OnePlus 15T. Released in China a few months ago, the OnePlus 15T takes the familiar compact-flagship formula and removes the customary punishment.
The OnePlus 15T [CH] has a smaller display and a more manageable body, but OnePlus did not respond by shrinking the battery, slowing the processor, or eliminating the telephoto camera as some smartphone makers do.
The phone measures 150.56 x 71.82 x 8.35 mm (5.93 x 2.83 x 0.33 in) and weighs 194 g (6.84 oz). That makes it considerably easier to handle than today’s pocket-dominating flagships, although whether a 6.32-inch phone still qualifies as “small” is a conversation for another day.
The flat AMOLED display has a 2,640 x 1,216 resolution, a 165 Hz refresh rate, 1.1 mm bezels on all four sides, and a claimed screen-to-body ratio of 95.4%. It can drop to 1 nit for nighttime use, reaches 1,800 nits of full-screen brightness, and supports 3,840 Hz PWM dimming, glove operation, and wet-touch input.
A 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor sits beneath the screen and works with wet or oily fingers. OnePlus has also equipped the display with Crystal Shield Glass and IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K protection. Small phone, large collection of water-resistance certificates.
At its heart is Qualcomm’s fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite platform, paired with 12 or 16 GB of LPDDR5X Ultra Pro RAM and between 256 GB and 1 TB of UFS 4.1 storage. OnePlus’ WindChaser Gaming Kernel handles performance scheduling, while a Lingxi touch-control chip and G2 gaming network chip assist with input and connectivity.
The 15T supports native gameplay at up to 165 FPS across six categories of compatible mobile games. Honor of Kings, for example, can run at 144 FPS with its highest graphics setting enabled. A 5,150 mm² vapor chamber, high-conductivity graphite, and a dual-layer cooling structure help prevent the compact chassis from becoming a premium hand warmer.
The real packaging trick is the battery. OnePlus has squeezed a 7,500 mAh single-cell Glacier Battery into a phone measuring only 71.82 mm wide. For comparison, the larger OnePlus 15 has a 7,300 mAh battery. Apparently, batteries no longer respect the physical hierarchy of smartphones.
Official endurance claims include up to 40.5 hours of video playback, 22.8 hours of short-form video, 10.4 hours of navigation, or 10.3 hours of gaming. The phone supports 100 W wired charging, 50 W wireless charging, wired and wireless reverse charging, and global bypass charging for powering the hardware directly during games.
OnePlus says the battery reaches 61% after 30 minutes and requires approximately 54 minutes for a complete wired charge under laboratory conditions. It is slower than the OnePlus 15’s 120 W wired system, but the 15T still charges faster than anyone reasonably needs while getting dressed.
Photography involves a deliberate trade-off. There is no ultrawide camera. Instead, the rear carries a 50 MP Sony main camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor, f/1.8 aperture, 24 mm equivalent focal length, and OIS. Beside it is a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera offering 3.5x optical zoom, an 85 mm equivalent focal length, and OIS.
The telephoto camera also supports 7x lossless zoom, while OnePlus’ OPPO-derived LUMO imaging system handles portraits, landscapes, motion capture, and color processing. Other imaging features include 4K Live Photos, AI reflection removal, AI object removal, group-photo enhancement, and portrait relighting. A 16 MP front camera handles selfies.
Dropping the ultrawide may annoy anyone who enjoys making rooms look twice their actual size, but OnePlus has prioritized the main and telephoto focal lengths most people use regularly.
Compared with the standard OnePlus 15, the 15T trades the larger 6.78-inch display, 120 W wired charging, and triple-camera arrangement for a smaller body and slightly larger battery. Both retain 165 Hz displays, wireless charging, flagship performance, and serious gaming credentials. The choice essentially comes down to whether you value an ultrawide camera or the ability to operate your phone without hand gymnastics.
Other features include stereo speakers, NFC, an infrared transmitter, a customizable physical shortcut button, Wi-Fi 7, an X-axis linear motor, and ColorOS 16 based on Android 16.
The OnePlus 15T comes in Healing White Chocolate, Relaxed Matcha, and Pure Cocoa. The white model pairs a matte white metal frame with an integrated white rear panel, giving OnePlus the rare achievement of producing a completely white phone rather than a pale silver one accompanied by creative marketing.
The OnePlus 15T launched in China on March 24, 2026. Official prices range from 5,099 yuan [CH] (about US$756) for the 12 GB/256 GB model to 5,999 yuan (about US$889) for the 16 GB/1 TB version. Chinese government subsidies can reduce those prices to 3,799 yuan and 5,199 yuan, respectively.
No international release has been announced. For now, the OnePlus 15T remains a compact Chinese flagship with a larger battery than its bigger sibling, a periscope camera, and enough gaming hardware to prove that choosing a smaller phone no longer has to mean accepting the children’s menu.
