Desktop real estate is precious. Between the monitor, speakers, and whatever you insist on keeping within arm’s reach, a full-size keyboard can start looking like an unnecessarily large tenant. The Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Mini 8KHz offers an eviction of sorts, squeezing its gaming hardware into a 60% layout.
You could pair it with the tiny Tracpoint travel mouse and reclaim even more space. Granted, that isn’t a gaming mouse, and shrinking everything rather defeats the point of giving your gaming mouse room to roam. Anyhoo…
The keyboard uses second-generation Analog Optical Switches with adjustable actuation from 0.1 to 4.0 mm. Rapid Trigger resets inputs according to key movement, making repeated presses quicker without requiring a fixed reset point.
The headline upgrade is 8,000 Hz HyperPolling. Razer reports average latency of 0.48 milliseconds in its internal testing. Snap Flex, Snap Tap, Dynamic Keystroke, and Dual-Keypress Priority round out its Advanced Input Control suite.
A brushed 5052 aluminum-alloy top case, doubleshot PBT keycaps, lubricated switches, and sound-dampening foam handle the physical side. Modifier keys double as arrows when tapped, so navigation hasn’t been completely sacrificed.
You can adjust actuation and Rapid Trigger directly on the keyboard, store six profiles onboard, or use Synapse Web without installing software.
The new Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Mini 8KHz can be had as we speak for US$179.99. That’s right. It may be very much smaller, but the price isn’t much smaller. I guess this could be considered a “shrinkflation”? If you are interested, it is available from Razer.com and on Amazon.com.
