Aimé Leon Dore 911 Carrera 4

Here’s another high fashion meets automobile. This one was a collaboration between Teddy Santis, founder and creative director of New York fashion label Aimé Leon Dore (ALD), and Porsche AG.

The car in the spotlight is a Porsche Carrera 5 (type 964) and we are loving it. Love the clean white paint job – the same shade of white as the storefront of ALD flagship store in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood.

Also love the rear ducktail that is a nod to classic design of the 911 Carrera RS 2.7, and the Cup 2 wheels familiar on Porsche from the 90s. The graphic Pegasus above the front wheel that points to Porsche racing lineage is a nice touch too. So was the custom-designed grilled badge on the vehicle’s rear grille.

But as one can often expect from such collab, the interior is the main focus with the Aimé Leon Dore 911 Carrera 4. Having said that, the centerpiece of this restored Porsche 911 is a full-custom interior featuring Schott sunflower leather and Loro Piana houndstooth (or hounds tooth checkered). The two materials can also be found in ALD Fall/Winter 2020 collection.

Anywho, the rich top-grain leather can be found covering the dashboard, steering wheel and door panels, while the reverse suede side of the leather covers the headliner and sunroof. And then there are the bespoke seats, restored by RECARO.

Finally, a non-restoration creation, a Schott leather trunk with Loro Piana accents, rounds up the look. The leather trunk is where you will find a care bag inspired by designs from the Porsche Classic product archive.
