Apple Arcade and Apple TV+

It is little wonder why investors are so fond of Apple. The company, not the fruit. The Cupertino tech giant really knows how to squeeze revenue from pretty much everywhere and its latest milking machines? Apple Arcade, a game subscription service and Apple TV+, an original video subscription service.

Apple Arcade will launch on September 19 and the Apple TV+ will be hitting the markets in November 1 in over 100 countries and regions. Man, everyone wants a piece of the pie that once dominated by Netflix.

Apple Arcade

Here’s what Apple Arcade is about:

“With a subscription to Apple Arcade for $4.99 per month, users get unlimited access to the entire catalog of over 100 new, exclusive games, all playable across iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac and Apple TV. Apple Arcade is launching with a one-month free trial, and users will not find the games on any other mobile platform or subscription service.”

The games on Apple Arcade can be played offline and a single sub affords access for up to six family members with Family Sharing. Apple said while it now touts over 100 games, it is expecting more titles to be introduced every month. Apple Arcade will drop on September 30 on iPadOS and tvOS 13, and in October on macOS Catalina.

Well, it almost looks like Apple Arcade is sort of the answer’s to Google Stadia, but (probably) less ambitious in the graphics requirement department. Apple Arcade will be available via a new tab on the App Store for $4.99 per month and it will be launching with a one-month free trial in over 150 countries and regions.

Apple TV+

As for Apple TV+, it is, as briefly mentioned, an all-original video sub service featuring original shows, movies and documentaries. The service will be available on the Apple TV app on Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac and other platforms, including tv.apple.com, select 2018, 2019 and newer Samsung smart TVs, Amazon Fire TV, LG, Roku, Sony and VIZIO platforms.

The price is $4.99 per month with a seven-day free trial to get you started. As with Apple Arcade, up to six family members can share one Apple TV+ sub with Family Sharing. As of today, customers who buy any iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod touch or Mac will be able to enjoy a year of Apple TV+ for free.
