If like your clock to pop and fun at the same time, well then, you gotta check out the Aria Balloon Clock conceived by Seoul-based industrial design studio Heart Storming Design. As the product name suggests, the clock is inspired by fun, playful characteristics of Mylar foil balloons. What’s brilliant about this clock is the clever use of the natural wrinkles found on the balloon as the hour markers. The ‘inflated’ clear bubble that represents one side of the balloon serves as an attractive ‘cover’ to the clock, opening up an unhindered view to the oversized hour and minute hands even from afar. I must say, that’s an absolutely refreshing change to the norm where clocks are usually are flat in design no matter what forms they took on.
The other half, also in the form that resembles a balloon is opaqued and in a choice of silver, gold, bronze and white. In a way, the Aria Balloon Clock has a neo-retro vibe to it that will transport you back to the innocence of your childhood. The clock is made of ABS/SAN and power-coated for aesthetic and durability. It is generously sized with a diameter of 318 mm (12.5 inches) and the thickness comes in at a cool 142 mm (5.6 inches).
