For car lovers who have pots of gold lying around and yearns for exclusivity, here’s another car that will make your money worth every penny: the 2015 Audi RS 5 Coupe Sport Edition. Why? Simply because only 75 units will be produced, meaning the odds of you bumping into another one is next to zero. Distinguishing itself from the lesser models is a handful of cosmetics including massive 20-inch 5-V-spoke design wheels, red brake calipers, and exclusive exterior colors. On the inside, you will find a black and crimson red fine Nappa leather interior with details like RS embossed sport seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel and black shifter boot with contrasting crimson red stitching, and crimson red fine Nappa leather door inserts and body-color inlays.
Mechanically, nothing has changed under the skin, which means it is powered by a the same 4.2L V8 FSI unit with 450 ponies and 317 lb-ft of torque on the tap. The power is put to good use at all four wheels via a seven-speed S-tronic transmission with launch control program and a crown-gear center differential that will rocket the RS 5 from naught to sixty miles an hour in mere 4.5 seconds and eventually topping out at an electronically-governed speed of 174 mph. Handling is further bolstered by electronic torque vectoring and a sport-tuned suspension which pushed the coupe closer to the ground by 0.8 inches lower than that of the Audi A5.
As mentioned, only 75 units will be built, each starting at $87,575. No word on the exact availability, but if I were you, I’d be knocking on the dealer’s doors the first thing in the morning. You know? Just to be sure. Continue reading to take a look at the interior.
