In the past, cartoon characters only appeared in children’s watches , but these days, they are luxury watches. I am not talking about the sub-$500 Undone x Peanuts collab from last year.
We are talking about the latest Peanuts-themed timepieces from this upcoming Bamford x Peanuts collaboration which is tipped to command around US$2,000 a piece. Perhaps, it does make some sense as kids who adored Charlie Brown and the gang would have already grown up and possibly, have the financial muscle to flex at this point.
Anyhoo, if you are one of those fans, the duo of Bamford GMT-based, Snoopy-themed watches are for you. These watches are here to celebrate the platinum jubilee of Peanuts. Both timepieces boast a large graphic of Snoopy on the dial face against a black background.
The first model is the “regular” Snoopy surrounded by a black and white bezel while the second design is the “superhero” Snoopy with black mask and yellow cape, and surrounded by a black and yellow bezel.
In both models, Snoopy’s arms serve as the hour and minute hands while Woodstock, Snoopy’s best friend, on the tip of the second hand.
Outside of the Snoopy graphic, both timepieces shared the same inner workings and features which include an automatic Sellita SW330-1 movement, 42 hours of power reserve, GMT functionality and Cordura watch band.
Finally, each Bamford x Peanuts Bamford GMT Watch will come with a packaging model after Snoopy’s doghouse.
Each model is limited to just 70 examples and they will be available from Bamford London and Dover Street Market.
