The Bandai Ikimono Encyclopedia Ultimate Nile Crocodile model kit may be 1/12th scale of the 5-meter (16-foot) freshwater beast; it still measures a shelf-space hungry 40 cm (15.7 inches or 1.3 feet) long.
The Bandai Ikimono Encyclopedia Ultimate Nile Crocodile model kit is the first in a new line of highly detailed model kits based on real animals. The new Ikimono Encyclopedia Ultimate series promised the next level of realism with a new model kit technology.
Bandai uses a new technique that divides the entire body and tail vertically at the scales, thus allowing the body to be moved with almost zero gaps – just like the real creature. Even the leg joints are hardly visible. And yes, it has an opening mouth too that, when open, features an accurate and detail inside of the month.
From the images, the Ikimono Encyclopedia Ultimate Nile Crocodile Model Kit does look super convincing.
The Ikimono Encyclopedia Ultimate Nile Crocodile Model Kit is scheduled to release in January 2022. Pre-order is now happening on the Premium Bandai website for 19,800 yen (roughly US$181).
