Beats Fit Pro True Wireless Earbuds Kim K Special Edition

There are no new true wireless earbuds from Beats this year yet. There are, however, new colors of the Beats Fit Pro introduced last year – courtesy of a collaboration between the Apple-owned headphones maker and American socialite and reality TV star Kim Kardashian. And the colors aren’t just any shades.

Kim thought Beats Fit Pro earbuds were a “game-changer” after picking up a set but it also set her thinking: wouldn’t it be cool if headphones were in more neutral tones? With that in mind, she found an artist to paint up some Beats earbuds in the colors she envisioned and presented them and the Pantones to Beats.

Obviously, Beats would not turn a super famous personality away. I mean I wouldn’t too. The name sells, plus Kim was right that no tech products ever were in neutral tones and it could be something that would sell. Thus Beats x Kim was born.

Kim’s touched Beats Fit Pro, fittingly known as Kim K Special Edition, is available in three shades: Moon, Dune, and Earth. Coincidentally, the low profile design of the charging case looks like a makeup product’s clamshell case and even more so with those neutral tones, which makes them a fitting companion to some of Kim’s other products, such as her SKKN skincare line, for example.

Not going to lie. I am sold by the idea. Call me superficial or whatever but I will not lie to myself by saying it is frivolous (it is), gimmicky, or whatnot. God damn it, those colors are lovely. It makes me wonder why hasn’t anyone thought of going with neutral tones in gadgets.

Beats Fit Pro True Wireless Earbuds Kim K Special Edition is sold out on Apple.com but looks like it is still available over at Beats Store on Amazon. Surprisingly, there is no price bump as one may have imagined it would. The Kim-touched Beats TWS still sells for US$199.95 on Beats Store on Amazon.com.
