have you ever wondered why people of today are intrigued by instruments of the past? perhaps, it is their simplicity that captures our attention and with the sea of complex gadgets rolling into our lives, we tend to appreciate the sense of uncluttered minimalism in some of the things we use. if you belongs to the aforementioned category, then these World War I military-inspired pocket watch and wristwatch by Bell & Ross are a must have for you. first in line in this Bell & Ross Vintage series is the Vintage PW1 Pocket Watch that sports an anti-reflective domed sapphire crystal, a galvanic black, sunburst dial with large numerals and hands covered in a photo-luminescent coating. encased within this 49mm polish steel with “Barleycorn” guilloché case back is a manual-winding mechanical ETA 6497 movement. other features include complete hours, minutes, and small second hand for accurate time-telling, grooved crown that offers ease of use even when wearing gloves and water resistance up to 30 meters.

the Vintage WW1 Wrist Watch on the other hand, signifies the progression of pocket watch to wristwatch where horns (or wire handles, back in those days) were soldered to the case for strap adaptation so that the pocket watches can be worn on the wrist. like its pocket watch counterpart, the WW1 features anti-reflective domed sapphire over its galvanic black, sunburst dial with large legible numerals, and hands coated in photo-luminescent. adding to the elegance is the black alligator strap with polished steel hardware. under the hood of the Vintage WW1’s 45mm polished steel case is a mechanical automatic movement that is available in three versions: a power reserve indicator model (WW1-97), a model with large date at 3 o’clock (WW1-96), and a model with both the a large date and power reserve indicator (WW1-90). honestly, i may not have the disposal income to procure any of these but i cannot deny that these timepieces are a few of those watches that makes us feel good even just by looking at it. in case you belongs to the category i am in, there is a small gallery for you to savor the beauty of the Bell & Ross Vintage series timepieces after the break.
