i simply dig huge watches but this latest dive watch from Blancpain is more than then just huge – it’s enormous. at 55.65 mm diameter, this watch is going to let you look stylish both in and out of the water. some highlights of the watch include a built-in depth gauge capable of measuring both current and maximum depth, a retrograde gauge for decompression (at 10 o’clock), a satin-brushed titanium case, automatic mechanical Blancpain caliber 9918B movement, three-color luminescence, water resistant up to 30 bar, and a five-day power reserve to boot. the X Fathoms also boast the “most complex injected rubber strap ever conceived” that comprises of 14 articulated parts to ensure a perfect fit on the wearer’s wrist and yet, still allow water to seep under the watch to be in contact with the membrane regardless of the situation. wow. sounds like a technology that’s too deep for me to fathom. anyway, i can’t deny that it is a good looking watch and it’s size is simply breathtaking. so what’s the price of such beauty? well… apparently, it is a concept watch, and hence there’s no pricing as yet. then again, i wouldn’t even dream about it. more images of the X Fathoms after the break.
