Our favorite maker of unlocked smartphone, BLU Products, has hit up the market with a Pro model of its G9 smartphone announced in May and boy, it is a gorgeous device. The BLU G9 Pro presents to you a 6.3-inch FHD+ (1,080 x 2,340 pixels, 409 ppi, if any care to know) Infinity display and brings to the table a triple rear camera setup, bolstered by, you guessed it, AI features.
The tri-camera setup comprised of a 16 MP Sony IMX499 sensor-equipped main camera, a 20 MP nigh-mode capable sensor, and a 5 MP depth mode sensor. The front shooter is no slouch either. It is a 24 MP item offered by Samsung S5K2X5 sensor. It is not powered by mainstream flagship chip, however. It is driven by a MediaTek 12 nm P60 chipset, featuring 4 ARM Cortex-A73 + 4 ARM Cortex-A53 CPU clocking in at 2.0 GHz.
Before you go nay on it, BLU Products want to convince that the P60 is just as capable, if not more capable as similarly priced devices like the moto G7, moto G7 PLUS and even the Samsung A50. The BLU G9 Pro claims an ANTUTU score of 139,120, outperforming the aforementioned devices. If we did not remember wrongly, it should also benefit from not having bloatware.
Other notables include 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB internal storage – expandable by 128 GB via microSD card, a 4,000 mAh “super battery”, wired 18W quick charge, 10W wireless charging, USB Type-C, dual SIM support, GSM Quad Band that supports both 3G and 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, dual-band WiFi (supports up to n), and finally, it has AI Face ID unlock as well as physical fingerprint sensor (located on the back of the handset).
Android 9.0 Pie-powered BLU G9 Pro smartphone is available exclusively on Amazon for $249, BUT for a limited time, it is being sold 50 dollars less, at $199.99.
