Two years after the launch of the BMW CE 04, BMW Motorrad has presented another electric vehicle for urban conurbations. However, unlike the CE 04 which is a clear-cut scooter, the CE 02 is not. Well, at least, that’s what BMW said. The German marque said the BMW CE 04 is neither an e-Scooter nor an e-Motorbike; it is described as an “e-Parkourer”.
A Parkourer is basically an urban mover that helps you get around the city, quickly and efficiently, and in the case of the BMW CE 02, doing so with a lot of styles. It is nimble, practical, robust, and reduced to the essentials in terms of design.
It has large wheels to cope with the demand for robustness, and also for handling many types of terrains. The black color on the frame, wheels, front fender, and triple clamp fairing at the top, and granite gray metallic matte for the engine conveys style and minimalism at the same time.
There is a special HIGHLINE version, in which it has an extroverted and colorful appearance lent to it by forks anodized in gold and a tape design, along with Petrol as a contrasting color.
There are two versions of the CE 02. There is an 11 kW (15 hp) version that makes a top speed of 95 km/h (about 60 mph) and a 4 kW (5 hp) (rated power 3.2 kW (4 hp)) version that is limited to 45 km/h (28 mph). The latter allows riders from the age of 15 or anyone who has a car license to operate while the former requires riders of age 16 and above.
Other highlights include double-loop tube frame chassis, telescopic forks (front), single-sided swingarm, cast light alloy wheels, 3.5” micro TFT display, USB-C charging port, BMW Motorrad ABS (front wheel only), reverse assistant, ASC (Automatic Stability Control), RSC (Recuperative Stability Control), 750 mm low seat height, seats up to two, keyless ride, LED lights, and 0.9 kW external charger for charging with standard household wall outlets – just to name a few.
The 2024 BMW CE 02 eParkourer is available to order with a starting price of US$7,599.
