Perhaps the 1:24 push-along brick-built Audi R8 Coupe is not the best-looking and, to be honest, too puny for some collectors’ and petrolheads’ liking. If those have been floating in your mind, well, CaDA has clearly read those thoughts. It has just launched a larger model. Folks, meet the new CaDA 1:14 Audi R8 Coupe 2019 (C57012).

On render, the CaDA 1:14 Audi R8 Coupe 2019 looks incredible, thanks in part to the Technic-style design and, of course, the size. The model is, you guessed it, remote-controlled—which I suspect is CaDA’s biggest obsession. Anyhoo, as before, it offers two ways of controlling it: a dedicated 2.4G controller and a smartphone via the companion app. In addition to virtual joysticks and gyro control, the app also offers visual-based coding for a play-and-learn experience. You can even draw a route on your phone, and this little sports car will do your bidding.
Like the 1:24 version, this Technic-style recreation of the iconic supercar is officially licensed by the four rings marque (obviously). At a larger scale, the completed model packs more details, including the iconic flowing line, mesh front grille, side air intakes, and rear spoiler. Interestingly, this model features an “assembly-free” platform (a.k.a. chassis).
Under the hood, it has a 3.7V 500 mAh lithium battery that powers an electric motor capable of hitting 5.5 km/h (3.4 mph), which is faster than the average walking speed of a young adult. When completed, this 536-piece model measures 28 cm long, 13.5 cm wide, and 9 cm tall (about 11 x 5.3 x 3.5 inches).
The CaDA 1:14 Audi R8 Coupe 2019 Set has just launched in China for 274 yuan* [CH] after discount (MSRP 389 yuan). It’s also available globally from CaDA’s official web store for US$54.99.
