Casio EDIFICE Honda Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso Team

As far as timepieces go, the image of motorsports does not exclusively belong to TAG Heuer or any of those marque that will break your bank account. There is also Casio EDIFICE. Speaking of which, Casio has unveiled new additions to the EDIFICE line that celebrates motorsports: the second set of EDIFICE collaboration models with Honda Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso F1 Team. Pretty dope stuff if you are a major fan of Formula racing, particularly if you support Honda Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso F1 Team.

Jointly created with HRD Sakura, the new Honda Racing series, namely, EQB-1000HRS and EQB-1000HR, are limited editions of 900 watches and 2,900 watches, respectively. The association with Honda and motorsports is not skin deep. These Honda Racing wrist watches boast a bezel crafted from titanium aluminide, a material used in its engine valves which is undoubtedly, a fitting homage to motorsports.

The bezel is then finished with diamond-like carbon (DLC) processing, which is also found inside Honda power units to increase the surface hardness. As noted by its model name, both EQB-1000HRS and EQB-1000HR are based on the EQB-1000 series. This means, you will be enjoying a slim-profile chronograph along with features Tough solar power system as well as smartphone connectivity.

“The EQB-1000HRS, has a red watchband, made from Kevlar® fabric sandwiched between two layers of Cordura® fabric, which matches Honda’s brand color…. The dials have a graduated black-to-red motif, simulating the moment of combustion in an engine cylinder. The Honda Racing logo appears on the dial and case back of both models and on the watchband of the EQB-1000HRS. These premium models come in special packaging with a card featuring photos of Honda’s power unit and the Scuderia Toro Rosso Formula One racing car.”
