As always, we saw the box image circulating online since last week, but we had to restraint our excitement to share the news because, that’s probably what LEGO wants (right?). We are talking about the LEGO 10269 Creator Expert Harley-Davidson Fat Boy and boy, it is definitely a drool-worthy set. Anywho… LEGO has, on July 9, put out the official words and now we are safe talk about it.
As expected, the set was developed in collaboration with the iconic American motorcycle maker and much like any Harley-Davidson‘s vehicle, the set boast some pretty crazy attention to details. My favorite bit is perhaps the Milwaukee-Eight engine which comes to life (by the way of moving pistons) when the rear wheel is spun. Dope.
Other details include solid-disc wheels, teardrop fuel tank, integrated speedometer, dual exhaust pipes, turnable handle bar, moving gear shift and brake levers, flip down kickstand, and authentic dark red and black color scheme with Harley-Davidson logos on each side reflective of the 2019 Fat Boy motorcycle’s Wicked Red paint scheme.
All told, the LEGO 10269 Creator Expert Harley-Davidson Fat Boy packs 1,023 pieces and when built, measures over 7 inches (20 cm) high, 7 inches (18 cm) wide and 12 inches (33 cm) long. The LEGO 10269 Creator Expert Harley-Davidson Fat Boy will hit the stores, both on and off line, on August 1, 2019. LEGO VIP members will be able to acquire it earlier on July 17 at LEGO Brand Stores. The price? A surprisingly reasonable $99.99.
On a related news, LEGO celebrates the launch of the LEGO 10269 Creator Expert Harley-Davidson Fat Boy by having LEGO Master Builders built a life-size replica of the Fat Boy motorcycle. The 1:1 scale LEGO Harley-Davidson Fat Boy features silver coated parts, WiFi animation control, sound and light effects mimicking the actual motorcycle.
The model took 865 hours to build and is made of 69,569 bricks, including 6,000 special LEGO elements. LEGO said that the 1:1 scale LEGO Harley-Davidson Fat Boy will be on display at select LEGO stores and Harley-Davidson events. However, when and where you will be able to see it is unclear.
