HODINKEE has partnered with seven-time Grammy Award winning artist, John Mayer, to create this handsome Casio G-Shock timepiece, the Casio G-Shock Ref. 6900 by John Mayer.
Inspired by the keyboard, Casiotone SK-5, the musician grew up with, the Casio G-Shock Ref. 6900 by John Mayer features coloration of the Casio keyboard against a textured slate gray case and strap.
The association with the Casiotone SK-5 is subtle, but unmistakable. It speaks class. The teal ‘G-SHOCK’ at 12 o’clock and the yellow lettering around the bezel are not only nods to the classic keyboard, but also very 80s.
The hardware itself features G-Shock’s iconic triple-graph face design in a sizeable 53.2 mm case.
Other details include a Japanese-made quartz movement, 24-hour clock, 1/100th stopwatch, 24-hour countdown timer, multi-function alarm, flash alert, EL backlight with Afterglow, stainless steel case back engraved with John Mayer’s name as well as HODINKEE’s branding, and of course, G-Shock’s famous shock and water resistance of up to 200 meters (660 feet).
