Seldom we hear of a bag getting recognized by Red Dot. At least, not a backpack that is this packable. However, that’s exactly what the Catalyst 20L Waterproof Backpack has received, a Red Dot Award for Product Design 2019. TBH, I never took notice of this bag until now and when I did, I realize it is actually pretty cool. How is it cool? Just imagine a bag that slips into a pocket and yet, opens up to a full-fledged and waterproof backpack with 20L of voluminous space that will fit just about anything for campus or the adventure.
Catalyst 20L Waterproof Backpack is designed with material tested to withstand 10,000 mm of water and sports taped waterproof seams that will keep out even the heaviest downpours. It is kind of design feat that a packable bag could look this good.
Other features include breathable, quick drying mesh shoulder straps, deep 9-inch (23 centimeters) side pockets, large roll top closure, adjustable sternum strap with whistle, a tapered overall profile allow for better weight distribution, and it is, of course, super lightweight (it weighs mere 170g!).
Each Catalyst 20L Waterproof Backpack comes with compact carry pouch for you to pack the bag in for easy storage and transportation until you need to use it. Pretty cool. Man, I still can’t get over how much it was. When packed down, it is literally pocket size. If I am a frequent traveler, Catalyst 20L Waterproof Backpack will definitely my go-to “deployment bag.”There’s just one problem though; It does not come cheap. One Catalyst 20L Waterproof Backpack will run you back at $119.99. Hmmm interesting… I don’t remember packable bag being this pricey. Just a thought there…
