Here’s the first look of the Takara Tomy Transformers MP-1GB Optimus Prime Ecto-35 Edition that is supposed to be only reveal at the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) in July. Takara Tomy Transformers MP-1GB Optimus Prime Ecto-35 Edition is essentially the Masterpiece Optimus Prime in Ghostbusters colors with a little bit extra. It being Ghostbusters colors, the result appeared to spartanly colored action figure/semi truck.
A stark contrast to the usual red and blue Optimus Prime colors. It looks pretty dope in robot form, with red-accented white upper torso nicely balanced out by ash gray legs (also red accented) and a similarly colored head. Optimus’ chest opens up to reveal the license plate ‘Ecto-35’ and the truck rear is actually a ghost trap. Clever! Another cool feature is the details printed on the sides of the trailer that says “Call 555-2368” and the tagline “We’re ready to believe you,” alongside the Ghostbusters logo, a red stripe and the yellow/black warning band.
The collectible also appear to come with a small ghost trap on top of the trailer and non-translucent Slimer figure. The package itself, which is designed to look like a proton pack, is worthy of collecting. It even have straps for it be carried on your back. Sweet. Transformers MP-1GB Optimus Prime Ecto-35 Edition is expected to be available on July 18, 2019 for a surprisingly affordable $149.99. I supposed that would mean it will break cover at SDCC’s pre-event.
In a related news that we have somehow missed… there was another Transformers x Ghostbusters from Hasbro reveal earlier at the New York Toy Fair. Not sure if that is a brand new character, but it is confirmed it is called an Ectrotron and it is a proton pack-equipped Autobot that, when in its vehicle form, is the iconic Ecto-1 wagon. Obvious choice, really.
The vehicle measures 7-inch and the transformation has 22 steps. It comes with a photo pack, paranormal activity-detecting goggles, and a translucent slimer figure. Hasbro Transformers Ghostbusters Mash-up Ecto-1 Ectrotron will sell for $49.99 when it lands in July 29, 2019. You can pre-order it from Hasbro Pulse now if you want.
