Just when we thought laptop couldn’t get anymore cheaper, in comes the new Chuwi Corebook Pro 13-inch Laptop. It has a list price of US$499, but for a limited time, you could score an additional US$100 off the device.
A spanking new laptop that does not look shabby at just US$399. Imagine that! And it has 2K 13-inch IPS display to boot. 2K! Granted, the processor is kind of dated. It is running on an Intel Core i3-6157U chip, which was first released in 2015.
But hey, it’s under 400 bucks, for the love of god. What more can one ask for? Besides, at least, it does have a gorgeous design and USB Type-C port with Power Delivery 2.0 for fast charging.
Along with the Intel core processor is 8 GB of DDR4 2133 MHz RAM and 256 GB SSD (M.2 2280). And it has got, in the company’s own words, “monstrous 46.2 Wh battery,” good for 8 hours of use.
Other worthy mentions include 4K60Hz video output, Intel Iris Graphics 550 with clock speed up to 1 GHz, 3.5 mm audio hack, microSD card reader, dual-band (2.4/5.0 GHz) wireless 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, backlit Chiclet keyboard, and a USB 3.0 port.
All the above is packed inside a beautifully crafted all-metal design that weighs in at just 2.95 lbs (1.34 kilograms).
Honestly, I still find it hard to believe one could acquire a laptop at this price and does not look shabby – even if the processor is a tad dated.
