Cove Smart Water Purifier

If you believe that the current water filtration system merely conceals the flavor to create the impression of the water actually being purified like what Cove claims, then you are right in their camp and probably ready for a spanking new water purifier. And we are talking about just any water purification system; it is one that’s, not surprisingly, smart too. It is designed to appeal and it can serve up water to the temperature of your preference and has the obligatory LED light to visually cue you of the device status, such as if it needs filter change or the reservoir needs topping up. An app will also let you in of the same notifications, so you will be in the know even when you are away. The app can even prompt any grown man who doesn’t know when to drink water to do so. See? Now you know what we meant by it can sometime outsmart some people?

Under the hood, it uses “responsibly sourced” filtering materials that will absorb impurities without bacteria buildup which apparently, some of today’s systems do. That’s the first stage. The second stage has a miniature pump that will force the water through more mineral and filtering blocks and silver-coated, laser-etched membranes to pull in other contaminates that managed to elude the first line of defense. Apparently, the process will not strip the water of the minerals. Though I am not sure how Cove achieved that without having chemicals at work and if it does use chemicals, I’d be wary. To us, water purifier or filtration system is supposed to be all natural and that’s that. There shouldn’t involve any active materials which we could inevitably ingest. The bottomline is, if there are chemicals in it, it’s a cross on the check box on our list.

Anywho, Cove is a little more ambitious than merely providing you with impurities-free drinking water; it is a tool to collect data on water quality and when more Coves get into homes around the globe, the company can then draw an independent map of water quality which it can then utilize it to tailor the filters for that specific area right at the root of the water problem, so to speak. While it all sounds pretty enticing, we loathe the idea of having to top up the water manually. We thought it should be rigged up to the water supply of your home for a continuous supply like some of the existing systems do. In any case, if you want one, you can pre-order the Cove starting from today for $249. Delivery is expected to commence later this year.
