I am not going to lie. I never heard about DAB Motors until today. If you never heard of it too, well, it is a Peugeot-owned electric motorcycle brand which yet to roll out anything. Never mind that the marque does not have a product zipping on the streets now because they are still establishing itself as an electric bike fashion company. Yup. An electric bike fashion company. Because a motorcycle is more than a transport; it is fashion—or at least it is for DAB Motors’ first ride, 1ɑ.

Perhaps, the company’s regular DAB 1ɑ isn’t enough to push the notion of fashion motorcycle and the company has created a one-off, transparent version. That’s right. A transparent electric bike. Like, how cool is that? I think it is super cool but I have to say that it is more geeky than fashionable, IMHO.
For this version, most, if not all of the panels, are replaced with transparent/translucent panels, allowing you to admire the innards. Speaking of aesthetic… I can’t be the only one who finds the 1ɑ looked like Super73 C1X. Uncanny! And because it is transparent, I think it makes a perfect companion to the see-through Volkswagen.
As far as specs go, this little guy offers 395 Nm (291 lb-ft) of torque at the wheel, and its 7.1 kWh li-ion battery offers up to 150 kilometers (93 miles) of range. The bike is pretty light too, tipping the scales at just 125 kilograms (276 pounds). There are just 400 units to go around, btw.
DAB’s 1α Transparent Edition features fully translucent plastics, revealing the inner mechanics, and even includes a vintage game cartridge-style key. Why? Because it is inspired by retro game consoles. This one is out of reach for everyone since it is a one-off thing. You can still register your interest for the regular DAB 1ɑ if you are down. It starts at €14,900 (around US$16,150).
