Not every kid is into supercars. My nephew, for one, is all down for buses – specifically, public transportation buses. But regardless of the kids’ interest, no kid can resist the allure of a ride-on toy, especially one that digs, such as the Dake Toys Officially License Volvo Excavator Ride-on Toy DK-VE888 (E).
From Volvo Construction Equipment and Dake Toys, the DK-VE888 (E) is modeled after full-sized Volvo excavators and features a functional boom, stick, and bucket that offers 3-point of articulation, plus horizontal swing – all of which the kid can control using the three control levers on the dash of the open top cab.
This adorable mini excavator is powered by a pair of rechargeable 12V, 35 W batteries and has a push button start, complete with a machine start sound effect when activated.
The mini construction machinery boasts button toggle switches to switch between two speed modes (high and low), and forward or reverse. There is a button for the horn, as well as a toggle button to turn on the LED headlights. Yes. It has headlights too.
The open cab further features a comfy seat with the option for leather upholstery, a functional safety belt, an opening door, and a multifunctional media player with FM radio, USB input, auxiliary input, and Bluetooth. The latter lets you stream audio to the ride-on excavator’s built-in speaker. Sweet.
It is a wheeled excavator with fully functional rear suspension, though it is not clear why only the rear. The Dake Toys Officially License Volvo Excavator Ride-on Toy DK-VE888 (E) comes with a remote control that allows parents to remotely control the vehicle like a regular RC vehicle, including the digging functions.
Completing the feature list is a toy shovel which is attached to the rear of the ride-on toy vehicle.
The Dake Toys Officially License Volvo Excavator Ride-on Toy DK-VE888 (E) is available now from good toy stores across the world for around $529. It is available in several colorways, including the iconic construction yellow, orange, red, lime, and green.
There’s another version, the DK-VE888 (M) which operates the same but instead of an electrically operated boom, it has a manually operated boom controlled by two long levers.
