Ever wanted to be intoxicated by Doritos Nacho Cheese? Oh, you never? Well, never mind that you never have such desire because you can get intoxicated with Doritos Nacho Cheese. How? Well, this: Empirical x Doritos Nacho Cheese Spirit.
That’s right, my friends, Doritos now has an alcoholic beverage – proving once again, Doritos are for grown-ass people. This unlikely collaboration between the nacho maker and spirit producer promises to offer a multi-sensorial, delicious beverage experience that smells and tastes just like, well, the Doritos Nacho Cheese chips. It is the first-of-a-kind innovation for both Doritos and Empirical.
The unique spirit packs 42% ABV (Alcohol by volume) and comes bottled in the iconic 750 ml Empirical bottle, with the familiar Doritos logo on the label.
To create this unique flavor, Empirical employs an innovative process to distill the complex layers of Doritos Nacho Cheese. Utilizing actual Doritos chips, the method captures and preserves the chips’ authentic essence through vacuum distillation.
This technique, in contrast to conventional distillation methods, functions at lower temperatures. This approach is key in maintaining the complete range of flavors inherent in Doritos.
Not going to lie. It is hard to imagine an alcoholic beverage that tasted like Doritos Nacho Cheese chips. Perhaps it is this curiosity that has the US$65 per bottle Empirical x Doritos Nacho Cheese Spirit flying off the shelves.
The limited-edition bottles of Empirical x Doritos Nacho Cheese Spirit will only be available next month online as well as in select New York and California markets. However, it was promptly sold out when Empirical opened the books on December 13, 2023.
