Ever have the death wish to be part of a Death Race run by a corrupt prison system? Well, now you can but without the apocalyptic automobiles; all you have is your pair of good’ol feet and as a boon, no actual life will be lost (phew!) because it is a video game on PC.
Much like Death Race, in DEATHSPRINT 66, as it is called, you kind of have to race for your life as you get thrust into a brutal future of 2066, where you and a bunch of other players become Clone Jockeys in a ruthless racing show by Bachman Media Network.
The game will immerse players in the most perilous running competition ever conceived. Developed by Sumo Newcastle and published by Secret Mode, the game challenges players to race cloned bodies in high-stakes, 8-player PvP, going through deadly courses for victory and sponsorship, all while embracing the futuristic concept of endless, clone-based competition.
Through these races, you earn HYPE, which powers abilities like Boost and EMP Blasts. Success hinges not just on winning but on entertaining the audience to attract sponsors and unlock cosmetics.
Set in the dilapidated cities of a dystopian world (like where else would it be set for such a Race to the Death game show, right?), racers navigate booby-trapped tracks, battling to entertain blood-thirsty viewers and exploring the dark side of extreme entertainment. It does sound very much like Jason Statham’s Death Race.
