Dinner in the Sky Sky Restaurant Japan

Have you heard of Dinner in the Sky? It’s a unique dining experience that suspends a table 150 feet (46 meters) in the air with a crane, letting you enjoy a meal while dangling like a human wind chime. It’s also the only “restaurant” where you can’t casually excuse yourself mid-meal to hit the restroom.

Now, after serving thrill-seeking diners in over 65 countries—including Belgium, London, Dubai, India, and Brazil—Dinner in the Sky has finally landed in Japan [JP]. The first location? KiraNa Garden Toyosu in Tokyo, with panoramic views of Tokyo Bay and the Rainbow Bridge.

Starting March 13, 2025, diners will be strapped into bucket seats with safety harnesses before being hoisted 40 meters (131 feet) above ground. Once airborne, you can sip on Johnny Walker Blue Label (the event’s sponsor—and you probably need it to calm the hell down when up there!) while gazing out at the Tokyo skyline. That’s right—nothing complements a high-stakes dining experience like a glass of whiskey that’s rarer than a good hair day on a humid Tokyo afternoon.

The menu? Still a mystery. But let’s be honest—you’re not booking this for the culinary finesse; you’re here to eat pasta while praying the person next to you doesn’t drop a fork from 40 meters up.

Reservations are already open [JP], so if you fancy dining with a side of vertigo, head over to the official site. Just remember: go easy on the liquids beforehand. There’s no “Sky Restroom” up there.
