the name Ayrton Senna is synonymous with Formula 1 Racing, but only keen fans of the late Formula 1 star and watchers of the Formula 1 race scene would know that this celebrated champion had a special affinity for Ducati bikes. marking the 20 years since the passing of the Brazilian Formula star, the Italian bike maker has unveiled another special edition 1199 Panigale, known as the Ducati 1199 Panigale S Senna Superbike, for the Brazilian market. limited to just 161 units to coincide with the number of the Formula 1 Grand Prix raced by Senna, this limited edition two-wheeler features a color scheme chosen by the late F1 star during his visit to the Ducati factory, just weeks before the fateful day in 1994 at Imola.

the special Senna gray paint work is matched with red wheels that were also seen in previous Senna edition bikes. each Senna bike will be fitted with a racing exhaust system and numbered. according to what we have read, this bike isn’t all about money, but rather, the bike is introduced in “close agreement” with the Senna Foundation and will in someway, contributes to charitable and education causes the Foundation pursues. the first of the Ducati 1199 Panigale S Senna Superbike will make its premier at the TWO WHEELS Motorcycle Show in Sao Paulo. we know, most of us won’t have the joy of seeing it in real life and therefore, we would like to invite you to take a few more look in the image gallery below, you know, as a consolation of sort.
