Depending on how strong your love for Dwarf Factory Mecha Series Keycaps – especially the McWhale – you may wish it could jump out of the keyboard and become a display piece or a collectible figure. Actually, it did a while ago but the size though… let’s just say it was adorable. Fast forward to November 2022, the McWhale and Xpider got turned into an actual figure that is pretty sizeable, known as the Dwarf Factory McWhale The Figure 2022.
Dwarf Factory McWhale The Figure 2022 was sold out and remains as such on the Dwarf Factory website to this day. But not all hope is lost because Drop.com has them in stock, albeit not all six designs. For those who are unfamiliar, the Dwarf Factory McWhale The Figure 2022 is the artisan keycap maker’s oversize spin of its McWhale and Xpider. Obviously, it is not a functional keycap anymore.
The hyper-evolved, space-faring mecha whale has grown in size and becomes a full-fledged desktop figurine. Because of the larger size, there are more details that you can actually see without squinting or using a magnifying glass. The McWhale is joined by the six-legged Xpider vehicle which touts a LED light-up feature. The McWhale “keycap” is, of course, removable.
Each figure measures 17 cm wide, 14 cm deep, and 10.5 cm tall (6.69 x 5.51 x 4.13 inches). There are six colorways to choose from, namely, Sunstone, Heliodor, Osmium, Commander, Neonium, and Voltage. However, Commander and Neonium are sold out. If you are down, you may pre-order the Dwarf Factory McWhale The Figure 2022 from Drop.com for US$300 a pop.
