If Tokyo-3 ever goes down in rubble, or if you somehow manage to slay an Angel (respect), you’ll need a proper tool to dig through the aftermath. What better way than with an Evangelion-branded excavator or wheel loader, right? Yeah, keep dreaming—this ain’t that kind of collab. Instead, we’re getting something far more… down to earth. Literally. Meet the Evangelion ATFIELD Shovel Collection.

Joining the ever-growing Evangelion work brand portfolio—which already includes a toolbox, a pelvic belt, and more—this new drop is a collection of full-fledged shovels themed after Unit-01 and Unit-02. Obviously, the peeps at NERV do not have the capacity to design, let alone manufacture, these Evangelion Unit-01 and Unit-02 themed shovels. Instead, they’ve teamed up with Asaka Industries Co., Ltd., Japan’s undisputed No. 1 shovel and spade maker, to create the ATFIELD Kinzo Shovel. Yes, that’s over 130 years of shovel-making experience going toe-to-toe with anime coolness.
And these aren’t just slapped-on logos either. You get bold EVA colorways—Unit-01’s purple and green, or Unit-02’s red and orange—applied across shaft, grip, and blade. They’re steel from head to handle, with tempered and treated blades tough enough for construction work, not just cosplay gardening—if that’s a thing. Full-size models measure 970 mm (~3.2 feet or 38 inches) long and weigh around 1.8–2.0 kg (~4-4.4 lbs), while the smaller versions come in at 815 mm (~2.7 feet or 32 inches) and 1.1 kg (~2.4 lbs), perfect for backyard use or displaying in your EVA shrine.
Practical? Absolutely. Collectible? Even more so. You’ll probably hesitate before plunging one of these into actual dirt. I know I won’t bear to. The Evangelion ATFIELD Kinzo Shovels launch September 30, 2025, priced at 5,480 to 5,980 yen (about US$38–41), available from Evangelion Store [JP] and Asaka Industries’ official shop [JP].
