Evo GoCam Portable Wireless Camera

Selfie drone has kind of made selfie stick a thing of the past. We said ‘kind of’ because, firstly, not everyone can afford a selfie drone and secondly, not every place welcomes the presence of a drone. The solution? Back to the good’ol selfie stick, or tripod, or you could consider this: Evo GoCam. I am surprised Evo GoCam hasn’t got more attention. I think it might very well be the ultimate selfie tool. It is a camera that measures an astounding 6 mm (0.24”) thin and the best part is, it is part of a smartphone case which means it slips right onto the back of your phone.

In this way, you’d have a camera, other than your phone’s, with you always. It syncs with your phone via built-in WiFi that has a range of 150 feet (46 meters) and the camera itself features micro suction back, so it could be adhere to virtually any surface to capture selfie from any angle and position. With Evo GoCam, you can finally take selfies without seeing one of your hand sticking towards the camera. It can connect to your phone via Bluetooth too and the device is controllable by a dedicated smartphone app. The app lets record, share and stream, and it also lets you to control multiple Evos too.

Evo GoCam is outfitted with a 5 MP sensor (or was it 8? I am confused here) that does 1080p30 videoing and supports H.264, along with stereo sound. Apparently, it can live stream in FHD as well. Data is recorded to a microSD card and there’s a micro USB port for charging its built-in battery that is good for two hours of operation on a single charge.

Evo GoCam sure sounds like a selfie addict dream come true, but like any crowdfunding campaign, it has its risks. If you are undaunted, you may want to consider backing the campaign by pre-ordering it on Indiegogo. The campaign has 5 days left (but it has met its funding goal of $50k) and it will set you back at $99 a pop (which includes the camera and the phone case). If the product site is to believe, delivery is set to be in October 2018. Check out the product pitch video to learn more.
