Since the 1980s, silver screen Batmobiles had been largely non-car like. They were designed from the ground up rides unlike where in the early days, Batmobiles appeared to be merely modified regular automobiles.
And you know what? It looks like the new Batman flick, Matt Reeves’ 2021 The Batman starring Twilight’s Robert Pattinson, would be something along the line of “modified regular automobiles.”
Director Matt Reeves have shared on Twitter first images of the Batmobile of the new Batman movie and it is unlike anything we have seen in recent times. No tank-like vehicles like it was on The Dark Knight and Batman v Superman.
Even Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman’s Batmobile was along the line of fantasy ride. Not with the new one, though. Not even close. It looks like a heavily modified classic American muscle car, though we can say which one it is. The vibe is there, alright.
The difference is, it has an exposed V-engine (bad idea) stuck to the rear of the vehicle and of course, there’s the all-important, Batmobile-defining bat fins. Although these ones are a little subtle, or sleeker if you will, as they feel more like part of the car than awkward attachments.
The Batman is slated to hit the theaters on June 25, 2021.
