FYF Minimalist Footwear

Good news, barefoot running enthusiasts. Switzerland-based firm, aptly called Swiss Barefoot Company, has a pair of footwear, ermmm, more like socks, actually, that will let you brave the natural ground in almost barefoot without the fear sharp objects and extreme cold. The product in question is FYF Minimalist Footwear (pronounced as ‘five’), which the company touts as “the world’s most reduced high-tech protective footwear” designed for natural barefoot feeling in any kind of sport. Whether you are into slackline walking, outdoor yoga, MMA, windsurfing, or rock climbing, this pair of tough and yet, soft footwear lets you have the barefoot feeling while protecting your feet from the harmful objects like sharp stones, shells and the likes.

FYF Minimalist Footwear

Made of 46.5 percent Dyneema, a fiber that’s said to be 15 times stronger than steel, FYF has high cut, tear and abrasion resistance, but is also soft, supple and lightweight that you won’t notice they are on your feet. It has maximum bending fatigue, allowing you to flex your toes as much as you possibly could and therefore, affords you agility for grip-requiring sports, such as rock climbing. In addition, tiny nobs across the bottom provides grip for maintaining traction. It has a water repelling surface, but if it happens to be completely soaked, water will not increases its weight and it will dry off quickly. And oh it’s washing detergent-friendly and UV resistant, so it is perfectly fine to let it bathe in the sun for a quicker dry off.
