Good news for Ghostheads whose love for the Ghostbusters was rekindled by Ghostbusters: Afterlife. There is a sequel! Called Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, it stars the cast from the 2021 film including Paul Rudd, Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, Logan Kim, Carrie Coon, Annie Potts, along with Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, Celeste O’Connor, and Ghostbusters veterans Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson.
Here’s what to expect from the sequel to Afterlife:
“In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the Spengler family returns to where it all started – the iconic New York City firehouse – to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level. But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.”
The movie is directed by Gil Kenan, not Jason Reitman. Reitman writes the story with Gil Kenan instead. The Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire will hit theaters sometime in 2024.
