The Takara Tomy Missing Link C-01 Convoy is a perfect homage to the original G1 toy but the price is not for everyone. If you have given it the pass because of the price, well, not all hopes are lost. There’s a cheaper version. As part of the 40 years of Transformers celebration, Hasbro is calling on the nostalgia of Transformers fans with the Transformers Legacy United Deluxe Class G1 Universe Optimus Prime.
This Deluxe class Optimus Prime stands at 5.5 inches (14 cm) and boasts deco and detail inspired by the Transformers G1 animated series. So, no. Unfortunately, there is no toy deco for the toy nostalgia folks, but I am pretty sure there will be one soon. Or you can always look to Toyhax for an aftermarket solution if you want to toy look of the 80s. Toyhax has not announced any decals for it yet but I am sure it will have one down the road.
Anyhoo, the Transformers Legacy United Deluxe Class G1 Universe Optimus Prime converts between robot and truck modes in 16 steps, and comes with the Autobots’ leader signature weapons: the ion blaster and the Energon axe. And obviously, this little guy will have superior articulation over the original. That should go without saying.
