Hasselblad H6D-400c 400MP Multi-shot Camera

How businesses convince us we need to buy their products? I know. One of the many ways is to make their products more attractive via impressive prints with mind-boggling resolution, and these businesses have companies like Hasselblad to thank. The high-end camera maker has yet again pushes the boundary of what is possible in terms of resolution with the H6D-400c, a multi-shot camera that packs a cool 400 MP. That’s four-hundred-freaking-megapixel! Holy cow! The H6D-400c combines six exposures into one single image via sensor-shift technology to result in an image resolution of, wait for it… 23,200 x 17,400 pixels. What!?? Mind absolutely torn into bits and if your mind aren’t (blown), allow us to put it in perspective for you: with 23,200 by 17,400 pixels, you’d be getting a print of size measuring 77 by 58 inches (195.58 by 147.cm) at 300dpi.

Obviously, with insanely high resolution image, comes demanding processing power for post processing. On that end, you want a powerful computer to do that (post processing) because, the final image you will be working on is a whopping 2.3 GB 16-bit TIFF file. Imagine that, folks. Just a decade ago, we did not even have SD cards that has 1 GB and this one file is already over 2 GB. Man, look at how much the world has advanced technologically (while as a human, we haven’t quite much progress, but that’s another story for another day). Other details include support for both CFast and SD cards, USB 3.0 Type-C connectivity, 3-inch 920K dot resolution HD touch display, and the ability to record UHD 4K video in Hasselblad’s proprietary RAW video format. But really, this camera is destined for making crazy eye-watering posters and so, UHD videoing is kind of a side bonus.

However, if a nearly 50 grand sticker is hard to swallow (and why isn’t it?), you will be glad that the Hasselblad H6D-400c 400MP Multi-shot Camera will also be available to rent via local reps, starting from 199 euros a day.
