What’s your impression of a Jeep? Probably just a good, off-road family car, but never a speed demon. Well, that is until 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk comes around. Armed with a supercharged 6.2L HEMI V8 engine, this monster of SUV rockets from 0-60 (0-97 km/h) in 3.5 seconds and ripped through the quarter mile in 11.6s. Astounding, indeed. That’s super duper quick for a SUV, but for the folks at Hennessey Performance, it is never enough.
The superlative car tuner with the obsession of making quick car even quicker has whipped up the Jeep Trackhawk HPE1000 Supercharged Engine Upgrade that will gift a regular, already crazy powerful 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk with so much more power that it challenges one’s sanity. If the pre-Hennessey touched Trackhawk is crazy powerful, then the HPE1000 upgrade would make it insanely powerful.
With the Jeep Trackhawk HPE1000 Supercharged Engine Upgrade, you are looking at a Trackhawk with 1,012HP and 969 lb-ft of torque. Madness. No doubt those are major bump in power and torque, but do you need this much power on a SUV? Probably not, but really, there’s no harm in having a ride that can get from 0-60 in 2.7 seconds, wiped the quarter mile in 10.7 seconds and smoking many high-end performance cars in the process.
You can’t buy a Cherokee Trackhawk as a full vehicle, but the upgrade is available, as we speak, for the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk that has the Hellcat supercharged 6.2L HEMI engine under the hood. Pricing and turn around time is unknown and so, if you are keen, you will need to get in touch with Hennessey Performance to find out more.
In the meantime, here’s a video of the 1,000HP Hennessey Jeep Trackhawk rocketing down the drag strip.
