There’s something particularly adorable about turning an ordinary object into, say, a mini bike. A realistic mini bike is cool, and so is a reimagining of a 70s mini two-wheeler, but one with a body crafted out of a military jerrycan? Now, that’s a different level of adorable and cool.

The Homemade 50cc Jerrycan Motorcycle by Croatian YouTuber Doctor D.S. is exactly that. Using an old, rusted 20 L military jerrycan, Doctor D.S. turned it into a brutal mini bike powered by a recoil-start, 2-stroke 50cc motor, complete with go-kart wheels and tires.
And since it is a rear-wheel-drive, chain-driven machine, the rear benefits from a wider wheel and tire. When completed, this little guy manages a possibly too-fast-for-its-size 35 km/h.
It is a long video, and one that is worth mentioning because it actually integrates a review of the tool he used, the xTool MetalFab. Everything from CNC to welding to laser cutting and rust removal was executed using the xTool.
As far as the man’s take on the tools he used in the build goes, he was pretty honest about any possible shortcomings.
Anyhoo, he does it all without saying a word. The only sound he ever made was “wow.” I kid you not.
Overall, it was an entertaining build. Keep going for the build video.
