Hot Wheels Red Line Club is twenty years old this year which means I am old as f*#k because I was already a collector in 2002. But this isn’t about me and my old skin; this is about the all are invited, members-only club for Hot Wheels collectors that have been dishing a lot of drool-worthy collectible die-cast vehicles over the years.
To commemorate the two decades since its beginning, Hot Wheels Red Line Club hopped onboard a time machine and takes us back to 2002 with the very first RLC Exclusive, the RLC Exclusive Custom Camaro – RLC 20th Anniversary.
Obviously, this isn’t exactly the model from 2002. It is even better, IMHO. It is one of the Original 16 Hot Wheels cars produced in 1968, fully retooled for the brand’s 50th anniversary in 2018 but with a similar deco as the first RLC membership car against a Spectraflame Shadowchrome finish.
The deco includes a matte black roof, and matte black stripes with red outlines on the hood, rear, and sides. In addition, “RED LINE CLUB” with “2002” and “2022” on either side encircled “20” on the sides. Plus, the Hot Wheels logo and Mattel employee names can also be found on the sides.
It has a full-metal Spectraflame Shadowchrome chassis and a hood that opens to reveal a chrome engine bay with a chrome engine. Completing the package is a set of Neo-Classics Deep-dish wheels, light smoke-tinted windows, a matte black-painted interior, and an illustrated RLC blister card.
A rare chase version on a collectible foil blister will be delivered to some buyers at random. Whichever blister you get, it will be packed in a Kar Keepers clamshell case.
The Hot Wheels Collectors RLC Exclusive Custom Camaro – RLC 20th Anniversary will be available to RLC members starting on September 20, 2022, at 9 AM PT until sold out. The asking price is US$25. It is limited to one unit per customer.
