after more than three decades, the British electronic band, Depeche Mode is still going strong, but this post isn’t about these dudes, well, at least not entirely (we are not Smash Hit, or E!). the band has yet again collaborate with Swiss luxury watch maker Hublot to launch a special edition luxe time piece, the Hublot Big Bang Depeche Mode for the benefit of the charity, water. for the uninitiated, ‘water’ is a non-profit organization aims to bring safe drinking water to the developing nations. as the product name implies, the time piece is based on Hublot Big Bang watch and is limited to just 250 numbered pieces. the watch immediately stands out with its all-black colorway and the striking “Clous Pyramide” decoration featured throughout the time piece (applique indexes, black ceramic bezel, as well as the heat moulded calfskin strap).

other features include a 44mm ‘Big Bang’ micro-blasted black ceramic case, black PVD titanium screws, a crystal sapphire with interior anti-reflective treatment, bezel lug and lateral inserts made from black composite resin, an open caseback made up of black ceramic and sapphire crystal with Depeche Mode and Charity: Water logo transfers, a black PVD steel crown with black rubber insert, an open skeletal dial face – micro-blasted, no less, and black nickel coated hands (with black SuperLuminova for low light readability). the special edition watch is powered by HUB4214 automatic mechanical Aerobang chronograph with 42 hours of power reserve. and oh, despite the rather ‘complex’ dial face, it is still equipped with a date window, located at 4.30 (try spotting it).

a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each watch will go directly to charity: water. speaking of which, we are not aware of how much each of these limited edition luxury watch will cost, or when will it be available. as always, the safest bet to secure yourself one is to hurry down to your local Hublot dealers and check it out. in the mean time, whizz pass the jump for a few more look.
