What do you get when a subcompact EV downs a protein shake, raids a gaming PC, and moonwalks through a recycling center? You get Hyundai’s INSTEROID—a concept car so wild, it makes regular vehicles look like tired office furniture.

Based on the INSTER EV, which is already racking up award nominations, the INSTEROID is Hyundai’s high-octane daydream brought to life. It’s got track-optimized wheels, a wing spoiler big enough to shade a picnic, and enough air flaps to sound like it’s ready for takeoff. Inside, it’s pure gamer heaven: stripped-down cockpit, roll cage, bucket seats, and a steering wheel that feels like it should control a spaceship.
Every button, display, and driving mode (yes, Drift Mode included) is customizable. There’s even a Beat House sound system and a Message Grid for the emotionally expressive among us. And because it’s 2025, the whole thing is stitched together with recycled yarns and lightweight lattice structures.
It’s not for production, but it is for inspiration. If this is Hyundai’s idea of fun, we say hit replay.
